““Stick” with the treatments. Dr Cara is great and was fantastic with my cat Bella and I saw an obvious improvement with her health and happiness. I actually brought my cat Bella back to see the specialist that she was seeing after several treatments and the specialist was dumbfounded at how well she bounced back and didn’t know what to say…. it was awesome”

“Dr. Smullen has a special way with animals. Her calm demeanor instantly puts them at ease. I can honestly say that acupuncture has made a difference for my elderly Jack Russell Terrier.”

“There aren’t enough words to describe how I feel about Dr. Smullen. She was there for me at one of the most heartbreaking times of my life. I had a 14 year old Pekingese named Cody.  Well, Cody wasn’t doing very well. He had a heart murmur, allergies, and seizures. Dr. Smullen did everything in her power to make him better, or at least comfortable, and to give me a little bit more time with my little man. It unfortunately came to the dreaded day where I had to make that heartbreaking decision. I asked her over and over again if I should let him go, knowing that she couldn’t make that decision for me. Cody came from a place of horrible conditions (puppy mill), so he didn’t care for a lot of people, but he had a soft spot for Dr. Smullen.  That’s when I knew right then and there that she wasn’t just an amazing doctor, but an amazing person as well who genuinely cared for my little man. So I made the decision to let my baby go.  I let go of my selfishness and let Cody let go of his pain. Dr. Smullen was so caring and gentle with my boy and made him comfortable. When he took his last breath, she said to me the 5 most grateful and appreciative words, ‘you made the right decision’. Dr. Smullen is not just a doctor to your fur baby, but she is their friend and deeply cares for each and every pet that she treats.”

“Four years ago my husband and I moved from Colorado to NH. Naturally we had to find a new veterinarian and vet practice. We were referred to one such in the seacoast area and began to see Dr. Smullen for both of our dogs. One cold winter’s day, our nearly 8 year old Bernese Mountain Dog decided to stop eating. Nothing made sense to us as to why and after several tests, we learned that our sweet Mutzi had developed liver cancer and had only about 1 month to live. By far the most sad, grueling thing I ever had to go through, however, I could not do it without the patient, caring demeanor and support we received from Dr. Smullen. Dr. Smullen carefully examined Mutzi’s condition, reports, tests, and never rushed us with the thousands of questions we had for her. Dr. Smullen gave us the best solutions for keeping him comfortable and as healthy as could be expected until that day we knew we could no longer ask him to liver for us. Beautifully, Dr. Smullen and her vet tech came to our home to put our sweet boy down.  On another note, we still have our sweet gal, Remy, our 14 year old yellow Labrador Retriever.  Because of the holistic approach that Dr. Smullen began with Remy four years ago, she is strong and healthy to this day! Dr. Smullen’s approach and thoroughness can make all the difference in the world and the quality of life for our beloved pets.
